Well we can't all have voice like Barry White, but with practice you can get close, or at least improve and get rid of that embarrassing, high pitch voice. This book will show you methods on how to make your voice sound deeper, but actually its kind of more than that. It will show you why some guys have deeper voices then others, and its not a physical thing.

Excellent Book

At 45 years old, I am not a young man, but I am just now finding my Way on the path. But I have very quickly realized that Tim Hogan's books (all of them) are "must have" tools for the kit of every craftsman and searcher. This book shines the light on who we were, who we are, and who we should be. It sits on the shelf of my home library along with Brother Hogan's other books, calling for me to read them again and again, so that I can share them with the world. Ben.

I nearly died when I was 19. That near death experience revealed to me a thread that could be traced among all of the worlds inner traditions. I have been heavily seeking every clue I can find about The Primordial Tradition since then. It is our duty, our responsibility to not let the knowledge of who we are, where we came from, and where we are going die. Brother Hogan is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to unearthing even the subtlest details of this tradition long forgotten by the world of the profane.

Well Done But Heads Up.

Overall this book is excellent - the pictures, the content, the excitement that jumps off of every page. One of our favorite things about this book is how it has inspired questions and discussions between our children and my wife and I about various subjects. We love seeing our kids learning about not only new things but also things that really fascinate them and excite them about life.

With that said we also have come across subjects that have not been age-appropriate and maybe not at all appropriate for certain households. There was a section about necromancy, ouija boards, haunted houses, palm reading, tarot cards, and the likes. There also have been other sections where we had to use the power of distraction or skim over some things for the kids. Not sure why or how these random subjects happened to find themselves in this book but they are there. Most of the book is great and has interesting content about animals, nature, senses, etc. I'm just writing this review to give other parents a heads up about this too.

Awesome book!

My 7-year-old son has both 5,000 Awesome Facts and Ultimate Weird But True, and he loves them both--he's crazy for facts. The books are completely different from one another and both fantastic. 5,000 Awesome Facts About Everything is just that. It has facts on flight, pets, food, space junk, movies, Australia, and more and more. There's a fact ticker, so you can count up the facts as you go. My son really loved the facts on spies, especially the one about Perry the Platypus.

Ultimate Weird But True is about weird things--wacky hotels, weird looking animals, weird weather, weird inventions, stuff like that. We all love the pampered pet pictures.

My 9-year-old daughter likes both books also (as homework distractors!)

Both books are great fact and photo books, but not the same like the other reviewer said. No overlap that I saw. We'll definitely get the next one of these that comes out!

Seclusion is not so secluded, anymore

Kraftwerk may be one of the few popular bands in the world who have retained a mysterious aura around them. Although it is becoming evident now, thanks partly to Pascal Bussy's work under review here, that this image was engineered by them as a kind of Kraftwerk ethos and band creed, it is also one of their hallmarks-that they did not sell out to the media and popularity contests, retaining their uniqueness while still influencing hordes of bands since the mid-1970s, when they first sprang into prominence in Germany and beyond. The founding members of the band, Messrs Ralf Huetter and Florian Schneider, rarely give interviews to this day, are very isolated and private individuals; in recent years, Kraftwerk as a band has churned out close to nothing in terms of releases, leaving widening gaps between their releases. Before their amazing 1974 LP and single "Autobahn," they played a unique brand of "krautrock" music that they have since disowned-their three LPs from this period are still not officially available on CD, and they don't play songs from this era in their concerts.

In August 2003, this status-quo changed momentarily, when Kraftwerk released an all-new LP entitled Tour de France Soundtracks, though anyone remotely familiar with their releases would have found that this LP basically echoed what they had released back in 1983 as a single, of the same title and cover artwork! Indeed, the song "Tour de France," tucked into the back of the LP, was a re-recording and remixing of the same "Tour de France" song released in 1983. They toured; one begs to ask the question of whether or not there will be more from Kraftwerk after this or not; their last LP before this came out in 1991, with no light shed on what went on for twelve long years.

Bussy's biography of the band was first published in 1993; it was subsequently revised in 2001, and another 2004 edition is in the offing. It is a revealing and fascinating portrait of what Bussy terms "one of the most fascinatingly beguiling and influential music groups of all time" (p. 12). It traces the origins of Kraftwerk, not only with its founding members, but also in the musical scene of Germany in the late 1960s and early `70s; hence, it is also an interesting piece of cultural history. The history of Kraftwerk itself is also traced, mostly in the context of their LP releases (of which there are eleven, not including singles). Bussy has succeeded in essentially restoring (or disclosing, depending on your viewpoint) the humanity behind the "Man Machines" or "Robots" from D�sseldorf.

His biography, understandably, remains limited by Kraftwerk's own self-secrecy, so the reader seeking to find juicy details of their working methods in the Kling Klang studio, or what really happened to the planned 1983 Technopop LP and its relationship to the 1986 Electric Caf� LP, for example, will not glean much because Huetter and Schneider have not exactly been forthright about such things. Details about their personalities had to be pieced together through second-hand testimony, which is always a little shaky for accuracy. It was up to Bussy to investigate such things on his own; indeed, in the Preface to the 2001 edition, he compared his efforts to a police investigation, where one clue would somehow turn up more clues to piece the Kraftwerk enigma together. It appears that the most social and open band member was Karl Bartos, who left in 1990, give or take, frustrated by the slow pace of music-making stemming from his day job. An aside: one should check out Bartos' solo work under his band name Electric Music, and also his self-named 2003 solo release.

Bussy, despite these shortcomings, has succeeded in spotlighting Kraftwerk. His writing is also excellent, so there is no fear of reading a dry, turgid account. Like Kraftwerk's music, Bussy's biography shall definitely shine on. Every fan should take the time to read this book.

Book offers nothing new

This book is more like a distillation of all the various magazine articles and interviews with Ralf Hutter over the last 25 years. If you are a Kraftwerk fan there is nothing new in here. The book by ex-drummer Wolfgang Flur has more dirt and juicy tidbits. This is a real hack piece of writing.

The Best Geometry Book ever!

This geometry book is the best geometry book of all time. It is well written and truly challenges students to understand geometry on a deep level. I wouldn't recommend the book for a lower level of students, but it is outstanding for everyone else. I love it and I am inspired by it. (I am a math teacher.)

Phenomenal Classic Text

Moise Downs Geometry is a classic text that forever changed the way Geometry is taught. The authors clarified the use of terms and symbols, differentiating between concepts that often were confused before, such as two triangles being "equal" vs being "congruent."
Although some sections do not have a large number of numbered problems, those problems usually have several parts to them. There is ample material to keep a student busy for 40 minutes every day!
The problems always require thought from the student: there are no "plug in the formula" ones that one can do without having to think. Every problem is unique. You cannot just assign the odds or the evens.
My only complaint is that the suggested tests are sometimes too short, and that some tests don't cover all the major concepts taught in the chapter. I wrote my own tests, which included their test questions, but which were about double in length and breadth. Also, I could not work two test questions, and I have a math degree from Stanford!
This book is a must!

Used this book in Middle School. Sometimes a bit confusing but taught me to understand Geometry at a fundamental level.
